On behalf of the children, families and staff we would like to thank The Rotary Club of Calgary Sarceefor choosing The Salvation Army Child and Family Services as the 2008 recipient of the 10th Annual "Art from the Heart" Charity Dinner and Auction. Factors such as poverty, social isolation and a lack of belonging have had a negative impact on the developmental and mental health of many of our children. This playground is not just a playground. I believe that it will prove to be an interactive community park that you have so generously committed to sponsor. It will provide special needs and community children the opportunity to increase their confidence, along with their social, physical and communication skills. More importantly it will increase their ability to form healthy social relationships. This in turn will lead to greater social bonding, enhance citizenship and community cohesion and improve tolerance and acceptance of others. The 2008 "Art from the Heart" was a wonderful experience. All the members of The Rotary Club of Calgary Sarcee have an ongoing generous spirit that truly shone through on the final evening of the event. Our staff and volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We are very, very proud of what you have offered to us, we value your friendship, and we will continue to support your work in the community. Thank you again for your commitment, kindness and thoughtfulness.
